The ASSP NEIL Chapter is proud to announce the 2023 ASSP NEIL Chapter Student Grant Award Program!
Available only to Full-Time students at Northern Illinois University (NIU) pursuing degrees in occupational safety and health, or a closely related field, we, the Northeastern IL Chapter wish to announce that one $1,000 award is available.

The application deadline for the 2023 ASSP NEIL Chapter Student Grant Award is January 31th, 2023. Award recipients will be announced and recognized at the 2023 NEIL ASSP February monthly meeting at Maggiano’s. Please share this information with anyone that may benefit from this program.
Scholarships
The ASSP Foundation runs the 2023 Scholarship and Professional Education Program available to students pursuing degrees in occupational safety and health and to ASSP members and safety professionals working to advance their professional credentials.
The Northeastern Illinois Chapter participates in this program and has funded the Northeastern Illinois Chapter Scholarship for nearly 20 years. The current Scholarship amount stands at $3000!
Additional Criteria for the Scholarship is as follows. The following students, in order, have preference for this scholarship:
- Northern Illinois University (NIU) undergraduates
- Illinois State University (ISU) undergraduates
- Northern Illinois University (NIU) graduates
- Illinois State University (ISU) graduates
If no candidate matches the first preference (NIU Undergrad), candidates will then be rates starting via the second preference, and so on.
In addition, ASSP Headquarters has updated the scholarships, now paperless, making the application process efficient and convenient.
